I arrived home this morning from LA and the para-cycling track world championships for 2012. What has finally sunk in is the results from my trip to LA and the fact that if I want to try and make the team for the London Paralympics the work begins NOW…well next week after I have a small holiday in Tasmania.
I achieved all that I wanted to achieve in LA. I managed to get personal best times for both the 500m time trial (TT) and the 3000m individual pursuit (IP). Receiving a gold medal and the world champion jersey was icing on top of the cake.
I must thank you all for the congratulations that have been coming in from family and friends. Do I feel loved or what!
I had the most wonderful time travelling with the Australian Para-cycling team. The team has a huge amount of support from staff members Peter Day, Muz Lydeamore, Tom Skulander, Peter Giessauf, Anouska Edwards, Alan Downes, Sarah Jack, Paul Martens and Jo Vaile. Without all of these people the athletes would not be able to perform the way we did. So a big thank you to you all.
What’s up next you may ask… well a trip to canberra to go hang at the AIS with everyone sounds nice!
